Melbourne trip begins
Well we left geelong at 10 am for Frankston which is about 1/2 hr out of melb. Set the gps to hopefully go around melb city but nope didn't happen and poor grae had to tackle busy traffic with a caravan and trams. Was incredibly stressful but hey we made it out ok lol and the big 4 frankston is really nice. We have an ensuite site and are located right at the entry near the playground, pool and tv room. Took the kids to the beach down on the foreshore and its a really great beach for kids with a sandbar. Grae wont tackle the city again so looks like we will use the trams, trains and buses. We have 5 nights here but we might even extend it and keep it as a base as there is alot id like to see in the yarra valley, dandenong ranges and mornington peninsula.

Geelong - what a wonderful place to stay
Well we have had three nights in Geelong, today is our last night before we head to Melbourne. We have loved it here and had alot of fun.
Yesterday the kids went to fairytale theme parks. this is the first theme park to be built in australia and doesnt look like its been changed much since it was built back in 1959. The kids loved it though and the castles and cottages were built really well, the puppets could do with upgrading though. At the end of going through each fairy tale there is a dungeon park which was really cool for the boys to play on. Here are a few pics
After fairytale park we went on Freedom water cruise followed by a walk along the pier and finished off with a delicous dinner at the wharf shed on the pier.
Today we went to Werribee open range zoo and werribee park which equaled a great day of fun for the kids and interesting things to see. I highly reccommend both and they are right next door to eachother. The open range zoo would have to be the best zoo i have been to as you got to go on a safari ride in a bus that took you outback where the wild animals were like camels, giraffes, rhinos, hippos and more. Then we got to walk around and see the animals. kids absolutely loved this zoo. After a few hrs there we then went over to the werribee park which is a mansion surrounded by beautiful gardens.
sorry pictures seem to be out of sequence the blog doesnt seem to keep them in the order i upload them but you get the idea.

Pictures from Port lincoln and Mt gambier
yesterday we also caught up at valley lake park with some of ethans friends from school in year 1 who are now living in Mt gambier. He loved catching up with them and i loved having an old friend to chat with.
Here are some pics of blue lake followed by the cave and sink hole in mt gambier, then we have the beach and playground at port lincoln and the murray river
sorry pics are all over the place still working this blog thing out.
Mt gambier and Geelong
Left Mt gambier this morning and had gps set for geelong, grae decided to ignore one of the turn offs so we ended up at a dead end near a drive way and grae couldnt reverse it so he had to unhitch and push it back. was so funny how bad he is at reversing the camper, guess he will be an expert by the end of the trip, well i hope lol.
anyway we didnt do great ocean road but we are looking at modifying our return trip later so we still get to do it, would have made our trip to geelong too long. We are staying at riverglen in Geelong which is nice and has a great playground for the boys to play on, that seems to be all they care about. After grae set up the camper we went for a drive through the city and to there forshore which is very nice then went and got a pizza for dinner. While at the shops we noticed they have kmart open 24/7 we cant believe that.
was wondering what we were going to do here in geelong but went up to the office here at Riverglen and there are so many things to do here, so much that i think we will do some of the things from melbourne as the attractions seem to be inbetween here and melb. There is a fairytale land place and water park here which the kids want to go to so I think they may be first on the agender.

wash away those tears
On the rd again. what a few days we have had
Camper is ok so we hit the rd hoping to stay in adelaide but due to cancelling our accommodation after thinking the camper would take awhile to fix we could no longer get accommodation anywhere. Anyway we got 1 hr towards adelaide late at night with knowhere to stay so pulled into a tiny town of 4oo people in port wakefield. Stayed the night still hooked up to the car and decided to to stay the night in strathylbone (sorry cant think of spelling) thinking it wasnt too far from adelaide. Well we had a big drive through the adelaide hills got there and the site was so sml and the caravan park at the showground looked like a dump so we decided to head to Mt gambier a day early. Had to take the ferry over the murray river which the kids loved.
We are now in Mt gambier after two full on days of driving and staying at karlganyi, Very pretty spot. Done lots of sight seeing which involved plenty of stairs so im sure i will pay for it tomorrow in the legs. we went to engelbrecht cave and saw where divers dive down under the city. Ethan loved it and then went to another sinkhole in the city which is covered in plants and oh so pretty. Then we went to Blue lake and went on a tour. Its so beautiful.
Not sure what things we will go see tomorrow as tomorrow is our last full day here before we head to geelong on wednesday.
Will put up pics soon i hope. At mcdonalds doing this atm so gotta go comp battery running low.
