problems in port lincoln

Well early this morning the weather turned bad. we had massive winds hit the camper. It was so freaky the camper was swaying so much i thought the roof was gonna come off. Anyway the poles that hold the main part of the camper are now bent from the winds so we are staying in Port Lincoln Hotel which is very nice, a pity we had to pay for a hotel on top of caravan site but oh well. Caravan is booked in to be repaired tomorrow thankfully as we were stressed it wouldnt be looked at till next wk with the long wkend.

They say it should be fixed within a few hrs so should be able to leave port lincoln to head towards adelaide. Wont make it there but might make it to port augusta or wyalla and then have a night in adelaide.

Tossing up wether to store camper in adelaide or port augusta and stay in hotels but then that will make the budget tight so still thinking about that.

BALLADONIA, ECULA, CEDUNA, PORT LINCOLN

Well the trip has well and truly started. Has been hot but bareble. We decided to push on from esperance to balladonia instead of norseman due to the heat. We wanted to break up the next day. So we stayed at balladonia road house / caravan site which was fine. A kangaroo was very friendly and came up for a pat. Ashton loved that. We also met another family heading back to WA so their kids played with ours. Pushed on early in the morning to eucla. Another long day.

So Arrived in eucla around 2pm and that was at a road house. plenty of other campers there and a pool which was a much needed cool off. Met another albany family there that were actually heading home after doing a 4 mnth trip similar to what we are doing so got some tips from there.

We then arrived late arvo in ceduna. Sml town with nice beaches. Stayed at Shelley beach. What a lovely beach that was for the kids. Had fish n chips from a chicken and seafood place so ate that down by the beach where the kids went for a swim. Slept in a bit after a restless night with ash so left ceduna about 9am.

Looked like port augusta was going to be a stinker so changed our plans and headed for the cooler port lincoln. This is a very nice town and a good size from what we have seen. The caravan place we are staying at is really nice and right on the water. So going to stay here two night and do a long trip Saturday to Adelaide for two nights. Kids are coping well with the heat though.
First main problem has arisen and that is our inside lights in the van arent working. No idea how to fix this. might have to get someone to look at it tomorrow.

ESPERANCE

Well we arrived in esperance late yesterday with no probs. Camper towed well. Wasnt too hot. The weather has been lovely here in esperance and last night enjoyed a nice bbq with friends Richard and Krissy. The boys loved catching up with their daughter caitlin.

Spent today at lucky bay in the le grande national park. Nice view but didnt like the beach itself so much as the sand was like muddy clay. kids had fun swimming there though.

Went down great ocean rd and seen twilight beach, blue haven and other beaches, from observation points. Now quietly packing up for our trip on the rd again tomorrow.

We are booked in for norseman but due to it being 38 in norseman tomorrow and cooler along the nullabor with it getting hotter on tuesday we are thinking of pushing ahead a bit to break the two trips up rather than one short trip and a real long trip the next day. will decided on the rd tomorrow though.
